About the Job
The Customs Brokerage Manager plays a critical leadership role within the logistics division, overseeing import compliance and customs clearance operations for diverse international shipments. This position requires an experienced professional with a deep understanding of U.S. customs regulations, who can manage end-to-end import processes while mentoring a team of entry writers.
You will be responsible for ensuring operational excellence across all brokerage functions — including entry filing, audits, billing, and client communication — while maintaining strict compliance with federal trade laws and internal SOPs. The role involves continuous process improvement, strategic coordination with internal departments, and the ability to make data-driven decisions that enhance service quality and efficiency.

Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee the customs brokerage department including the team of entry writers, ensuring that operational goals and KPIs are met.
- Manage the entire import clearance workflow: from customs entries and ISF filings to broker relationships, audits, billing, and client communications.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable U.S. customs regulations, partner government agencies, trade policies, and company SOPs.
- Review and improve department processes: work distribution, quality control, performance measurement and continuous improvement.
- Train, coach, and evaluate team members, manage staffing, workflow capacity, and performance metrics.
- Act as escalation point for complex or high-risk shipments, broker disputes, compliance issues, and audit findings.
- Partner with Sales, Operations, Finance, and Legal teams to support new account onboarding, client growth, and service delivery.
- Maintain and enhance customs clearance systems, reporting tools, data analytics, and entry tracking.
- Provide regular management reports on department performance, cost control, and compliance status.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, International Trade, Logistics, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in customs brokerage or international trade operations, including at least 2-3 years in a management or supervisory capacity.
- Strong expertise in U.S. customs laws and regulations (19 CFR, HTS classifications, PGAs, duty/valuation, etc.).
- Demonstrated leadership and team-management skills, ability to build and develop high-performing teams.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and data-driven decision making skills.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint
- Experience with customs/brokerage systems preferred.
- Bilingual in Korean and English is required.
The base salary range for this role is between $90,000 - $100,000 yearly, and your base salary will depend on your experiences, qualifications, and skills.
