Warren Consolidated Schools is seeking applicants for the following position for the 2025-2026 school year:
High School Physical Education Teacher
Sterling Heights High School
1.0 FTE
Qualifications:
Valid Michigan Teacher Certificate with either the MB (Physical Education) or the MC (Health & Physical Education) endorsement for the appropriate grade level required.

Essential Functions
- Advises parents and/or legal guardians of student progress for the purpose of supporting teacher's expectations, developing methods for improvement and/or reinforcing classroom goals in the home environment.
- Assembles and maintains equipment (e.g. volleyball, soccer, badminton, ) for the purpose of providing physical plans for instruction.
- Assesses student' progress, expectations, goals, for the purpose of providing feedback to students, parents and administration.
- Collaborates with school personnel, parents and various community agencies for the purpose of improving the quality of student outcomes, developing solutions and planning curriculum.
- Counsels students for the purpose of improving performance, health status, problem solving techniques and a variety of non-school issues.
- Instructs students for the purpose of developing their physical skills and
- Participates in various meetings for the purpose of receiving and/or providing
- Participates with students in group activities for the purpose of developing students' leadership, teamwork, responsibility and social skills.
- Prepares teaching materials and related reports (e.g. grades, attendance, anecdotal records, ) for the purpose of implementing lesson plans and documenting student progress.
- Reports incidents (e.g. fights, suspected child abuse, suspected substance abuse, etc.) for the purpose of maintaining personal safety of students, providing a positive learning environment and adhering to Education Code, administrative and/or school policies.

- Assists other personnel for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
KNOWLEDGE is required to perform algebra and/or geometry; read a variety of manuals, write documents following prescribed formats, and/or present information to others; and understand written and oral instructions. Work Environment
The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, some climbing and balancing, frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 5% sitting, 50% walking, 45% standing. This job is performed in a generally clean and healthy environment.
