THE ROLE: LOW VOLTAGE TECHNICIAN

WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR IN THIS ROLE
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Low Voltage Technician with expertise in low voltage systems, WiFi networks, and Fiber Optics. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of low voltage infrastructure, ensuring seamless connectivity, robust WiFi networks, and high-speed Fiber Optic connections across our organization.
- Install, terminate, and test low voltage cabling, including data and voice cables.
- Set up and maintain security systems, including CCTV cameras and access control systems.
- Install, configure, and optimize WiFi networks for optimal performance.
- Deploy, splice, and maintain Fiber Optic connections for high-speed data transfer.
- Monitor and troubleshoot WiFi performance issues, ensuring reliable connectivity.
- Implement security measures to safeguard WiFi networks against unauthorized access.
- Install and maintain Fiber Optic cables for high-speed data transmission.
- Conduct splicing, termination, and testing of Fiber Optic connections.
- Install and configure audio-visual equipment for conference rooms and collaborative spaces.
- Ensure seamless integration of audio-visual systems with overall IT infrastructure.
- Conduct regular inspections to identify potential problems and implement preventive measures.
- Maintain accurate documentation of low voltage installations, WiFi and Fiber Optic configurations, and troubleshooting procedures.
- Provide detailed reports on completed projects and ongoing maintenance activities.
- Ensure all low voltage installations, WiFi networks, and Fiber Optic connections comply with relevant industry standards and regulations.
- Stay updated on industry trends and recommend improvements to enhance system efficiency.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Certification in low voltage systems
- 2+ years of experience in Low Voltage and/or Fiber Optics
- Valid California Driver License and clean driving record
- Strong communication skills:
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and other departments.
- Ability to explain technical concepts, including WiFi configurations and Fiber Optic installations, to non-technical stakeholders.
ADDITIONAL REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to design and implement WiFi networks to meet organizational requirements.
- Competence to diagnose and resolve issues related to low voltage systems, WiFi networks, and Fiber Optics promptly.
- Ability to collaborate with network engineers to ensure efficient integration of Fiber Optic infrastructure.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Certification in WiFi or Fiber Optics and terminations
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Lifting up to 20 pounds.
- Climbing stairs.
