Scheduling Coordinator 

AmeriCare Medical provides integrated health service to hospitals, insurance companies and private homes throughout Michigan.  We are the parent company of AmeriStaff Nursing Services, Sun Medical Equipment and Supplies, and RxIV Pharmacy, delivering a complete and unprecedented health service solution.  

AmeriCare Medical is currently searching for a temporary full-time Coordinator / Scheduler to fill in during a team members planned leave, with the possibility of converting to full-time.  This individual will provide the day-to-day coordination and scheduling of field staff (Caregivers, RN’s, LPN’s, etc.).  This position coordinates staff with clients, matching personalities, locations, and home care skillsets ensuring the best possible fit as well as assisting in problem-solving to strive for optimum outcomes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Schedule client cases with appropriate field staff making calls necessary to produce an effective, smooth flowing schedule to maintain continuity of care
  • Monitor attendance, punctuality and disciplinary issues of field staff placed on assignments working closely with the clinical team and Human Resources to resolve issues
  • Ensure the integrity of the patient schedule by making necessary staffing changes while confirming that all shifts are properly staffed
  • Update field staff on patient cases as information becomes available
  • Operate as part of the scheduling team; effectively communicate and document all appropriate conversations and events in the Alayacare system 
  • Perform on-call, after-hours coordinator duties by scheduling open shifts with appropriate field staff and follow-up calls necessary to produce an effective work schedule (additional compensation paid)
  • Provide outstanding customer service and accept responsibility in maintaining client and field staff relationships

Qualifications

  • High School diploma required
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 2 years of medical field experience preferred home care setting a plus
  • Excellent verbal, written, and communication skills required
  • MS Office Suite knowledge required
  • AlayaCare software, or similar application, a plus
