ORGANIZATION SUMMARY

POSITION SUMMARY:
World Relief seeks a dedicated adult English Language Instruction (ELI).    You will work closely with the ELI Supervisor and Lead ELI Support Specialist to ensure compliance with the TXOR Education Grant and foster a supportive learning environment for adult learners and their families.   The position will lead and coordinate all aspects of English Language Instruction in Dallas. 

This is a limited-term position funded through a grant agreement until 9/30/26 and contingent upon funding extension.


POSITION SUMMARY:World Relief seeks a dedicated adult English Language Instruction (ELI).    You will work closely with the ELI Supervisor and Lead ELI Support Specialist to ensure compliance with the TXOR Education Grant and foster a supportive learning environment for adult learners and their families.   The position will lead and coordinate all aspects of English Language Instruction in Dallas. This is a limited-term position funded through a grant agreement until 9/30/26 and contingent upon funding extension.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develop curriculum and classroom activities to support ELI learning, under the guidance of the ELI Supervisor. 
  •  Prepare for and lead 3 classes, each meeting 2 times per week for 1.5 hours per session. These classes may be virtual or in-person. Availability for a night class preferred.   
  • Manage the coordination and oversight of volunteers in the Dallas location of the ELI program.   
  • Take attendance, build rapport with students, and contribute to student retention efforts by assisting with attendance follow-up. 
  •  Assist in tracking student progress, including administering midpoint and completion assessments.   
  • Contribute to planning and preparation for mass enrollments and support on enrollment days.
  •    Attend required training at our Texas headquarters in Fort Worth during the first month of employment.   
  • Manage all aspects of securing classroom venues and collaborate with community partners regarding meeting spaces.   
  • Participate in weekly meetings led by the ELI Supervisor, and occasional meetings with Regional Team members and the Education Manager.   
  • Perform additional tasks related to Education programming, as needed.   


  • JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • Mature and personal Christian faith
  • Committed to the mission, vision, and values of World Relief
  • Desire to serve and empower the Church to impact vulnerable communities
  • Able to affirm and/or acknowledge World Reliefs Core Beliefs, Statement of Faith, Christian Identity and National Association of Evangelicals' For the Health of The Nation document
  •  Strong teamwork and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage and motivate volunteers. 
  •  Excellent problem-solving, planning, and organizational skills. 
  •  A self-starter who can prioritize, multi-task, and attend to details. 
  •  Excellent interpersonal and written/spoken communication skills. 
  •  Familiarity with basic computer programs (Word, Excel, databases); design/marketing skills are a plus. 
  • ELI or TESL certifications or comparable experience.     
  •  Cross-cultural experience 
  •  A passion for engaging volunteers in service opportunities 
  •  Experience working with ELI learners 
  •  Willingness and ability to commit to the position until October 2026   
  • Faith based 
  •  Driver’s license and access to a vehicle required 


  • PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Knowledge of a second language is preferred.   
  • Previous experience in case management and/or working with ELI learners is preferred. 
  •  ELI or TESL certifications or comparable experience.
