Sexual Assault Case Manager
Crisis Services is looking to add a Sexual Assault Case Manager to our Advocate Department’s Case Management and Prevention Team. We are seeking professionals with public health, human services, social work, or education degrees who are interested in supporting our mission to provide support to anyone in need.

About this opportunity:
The Advocate Department of Crisis Services is Erie County’s Rape Crisis Center and a licensed Non-Residential Domestic Violence Service Provider in New York State. The Department provides comprehensive victim services to individuals who have experienced sexual assault, domestic violence, family violence and/or elder abuse. The Sexual Assault Case Manager provides crisis intervention, case management, advocacy and follow-up services to victims of rape, sexual assault and sexual abuse. This individual will provide comprehensive services in partnership with police, district attorney, and/or community-based agencies serving victims of sexual violence. The Sexual Assault Case Manager also attends and represents Crisis Services as part of the Erie County Rape Crisis Advisory Committee.
Job Type:
- Full Time, 40 hours/week
Pay:
- $21.61 - $25.30 per hour (rates increasing to $22.04 - $25.81/hour in January 2026)
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday
- Some evening and/or weekend hours, as needed, and required on-call responsibilities.
Work Setting:
- Onsite at Crisis Services, 100 River Rock Road, Suite 300, Buffalo, NY
What you will bring:
- Bachelor’s degree or master’s degree from an accredited college and/or university in human service field, public health, or social work, or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of one (1) year paid experience, preferably with victims of family violence/sexual assault.
- Excellent skills in assessing levels of emotional distress and reacting appropriately.
- Demonstrated ability to work with people of various ethnic, cultural and socio-economic backgrounds, sexual orientation and gender identities.
- Awareness of best practices of risk reduction and survivor support strategies.
- Demonstrated knowledge of sexual violence, domestic violence and stalking dynamics and effects, public awareness and crisis intervention services.
- Clear and calm judgment centered on survivors, discretion and competency for strategic and diplomatic collaboration.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to demonstrate high level of compassion, confidentiality and understanding for clients.
- Knowledge of practices and principles of empowerment and ability to maintain ethical boundaries with clients.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion, manage multiple tasks, and establish priorities in a rapidly changing and fast-paced environment.
- A valid NYS driver’s license with a clean driving record and access to a reliable automobile.
