About the Department
The Information Technology Department is seeking a full-time Network Analyst to join our Client Services Team. This position provides tier II desktop support for PC hardware, software, and other technology for City employees.
Position Duties
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
- Provides PC support and network management to all City departments and agencies.
- Provides tier 1 and tier 2 support for desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and peripherals.
- Provides technical support to customers in-person, over the phone, via email, and via remote support software.
- Diagnoses and resolves hardware, software, and network connectivity issues.
- Responds to service tickets, calls, and emails in a timely manner.
- Deploys and maintains standard desktop images using tools like PDQ, Intune, or MDT.
- Works with a team to respond to and resolve PC and network security events.
- Evaluates user computer hardware and software needs and makes purchasing recommendations.
- Sets up new user accounts, profiles, and permissions in Active Directory or similar systems.
- Works with a team to administer and maintain Active Directory, Office 365 messaging, and other collaboration tools.
- Troubleshoots basic LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, and VPN connectivity issues.
- Coordinates warranty repairs and vendor support for hardware replacements.
- Provides after-hours, on-call support on a rotating basis.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Other duties to provide direct or indirect service to the citizens may be assigned.
- When unusual situations occur and/or the City Manager declares a State of Emergency, all City employees may be required to accept special assignments and perform as needed to ensure appropriate service delivery.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Minimum Qualifications

Education and/or Experience
Associate's degree with major work in a technology-related field and at least 2 years of experience providing hands-on technical support for PC hardware, software, and other technology; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Other Qualifications
- CompTIA A+, Network+, and/or Security+ certifications preferred.
- Possession of valid driver's license issued by the Commonwealth of Virginia and acceptable driving record according to City criteria. View Driving Criteria here.
- Must successfully complete IS100 and IS700 National Incident Management (NIMS) training within 90 days of employment. May also be required to complete higher levels of NIMS training as determined appropriate for the position.
