This position will be located in Huntsville, AL.
Position Overview:
Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detailed trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
Essential Functions:
- Support Northrop Grumman’s Missile Defense Solutions (MDS) Business Unit with strategic engineering activities for weapon systems.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and 12 years of related experience, or a Master's Degree and 10 years of related experience, or 8 years of experience with a PhD.
- Applicants must demonstrate a strong technical background in design, architecture development, functional decomposition, requirements development and allocation, and interface definition.
- Capable of working both independently and within a small team environment.
- Demonstrated experience designing, implementing, and integrating large-scale weapon system facility infrastructure systems (mechanical, electrical).
- Demonstrated experience integrating large-scale custom designed and fabricated structures with commercially designed components.
- Ability to travel for extended periods to customer locations to support installation, integration, and test events.
- Applicants must have a current active in-scope DoD-issued Secret security clearance at the time of application, which is required to start
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience with Missile Defense Domain
- Experience with the Atlassian toolset
- Security+ or equivalent certification
- A current, active in-scope DoD Top Secret security clearance.
