EVP, Casting

The Casting department manages the casting responsibilities for Disney Live Action, 20th Century Studios and Searchlight Pictures.  The department serves as the liaison between the Studio, production executives, and talent throughout production before, during, and after principal shooting.  

Responsibilities: 

• Lead all aspects of Casting for Disney Live Action, 20th Century Studios, and Searchlight feature films and streaming productions  

• Lead a team to consistently brings in diverse talent that meets the director’s vision and the business objectives of the feature film and streaming slate  

• Identify new and upcoming talent, develop relationships for potential placement on films and manage the relationships between the creative executives/producers and existing talent

• Identify, hire, and oversee independent casting directors, working with internal departments to facilitate and resolve hiring, legal, and cost-related issues  

• Prepares and pitches casting ideas to senior level internal and external execs and filmmakers for development/greenlight   

• Interacts and negotiates with senior executives and filmmakers to convince and influence business strategies  

• Builds and enhances vital, key external relationships and is seen as an influential leader in the industry  

• Resolves conflict, budget concerns, and production challenges independently  

• Participates in and leads cross company projects, meetings and events  

  

Requirements:  

• A proven leader in setting direction for, and achieving objectives in a Casting Executive capacity  

• Minimum 15 years’ experience leading projects and teams in a Casting Executive or related role within a studio or production environment  

• Proven ability to successfully source and assess potential creative talent for production  

• Solid knowledge of the film production process  

• In-depth experience working with top Talent (actors, agents, directors, producers, writers)   

• Ability to access strong story lines and marketability  

• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interface with varied levels of mgmt, talent and staff.   

• Highly organized with excellent follow through  

• Understands the global and multicultural audience and how to adapt content to appeal to a wide audience  

• Ability to negotiate and effectively reach resolution
