Alltech, a global leader in animal health and nutrition, is looking for a mid-level Systems Administrator to join its IT/Technology team. This is a full-time role, reporting to the Global Infrastructure Manager.
As the IT team's primary liaison to our manufacturing operations, you'll ensure our OT colleagues have the IT infrastructure and support they need to keep production running smoothly. This role is critical in bridging IT and OT teams as we work to better integrate our technology support across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the IT team's primary point of contact for OT-related technology needs.
- Travel to various sites for installation, maintenance, and support.
- Configure, deploy, and support Cisco Meraki switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
- Maintain and support plant network infrastructure across multiple manufacturing facilities.
- Collaborate with the Plant, Engineering, and IT teams to integrate systems.
- Document technical procedures and system configurations.
- Administer servers and implement virtualization solutions for OT environments.
- Monitor and respond to security concerns in industrial control system networks.
- Bridge communication and collaboration between IT and OT teams.
- Support MES, batching systems, and SCADA infrastructure from an IT perspective.
- Implement and maintain network segmentation between corporate IT and OT systems.
- Assist with standardization efforts across plant locations.
- Collaborate with plant personnel and OT team members to understand operational requirements and minimize production impact.
- Assist with hardware lifecycle management and procurement for site infrastructure.
- Provide on-call support for critical OT systems as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Associate or bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Automation, or related field.
- Proven experience with industrial automation systems and OT infrastructure.
- Strong knowledge of PLC programming and SCADA systems.
- 3-5 years of experience in IT network and system administration.
- Strong understanding of network protocols, routing, switching, and firewall configurations.
- Comfortable working in industrial settings (e.g., production floors, utility rooms, control panels).
- Hands-on experience with Windows/Linux server administration.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Available for on-call support.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Understanding of IT/OT convergence challenges and security considerations.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel frequently.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in manufacturing, with a strong understanding of the unique challenges and operational demands of industrial settings.
- Familiarity with batch processing and MES systems.
- Experience with Active Directory, VMware, Hyper-V, and Cisco Meraki
- Experience supporting multi-site operations across different regions.
