The School of Education at Endicott College invites applications for a full-time Assistant Professor in Education (Social Emotional Learning, Special Education) to begin in August 2026. The successful candidate should be able to teach some of the required social emotional learning courses in our curriculum as well as  develop special topics courses according to their area of expertise. They also advise students; participate in accreditation processes; engage in professional scholarship or development; assist in the development of professional competencies in teacher candidates; and participate in school and college-wide service. The search committee is especially interested in candidates who, through their scholarship, teaching, and/or service, will contribute to the diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) of the Endicott community. 

 

This position is covered by the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the Endicott College Faculty Association (ECFA) and Endicott College. ECFA is a faculty union organized under the NEA (National Educational Association) and provides structure and support for all full-time faculty at Endicott College.

This role is in-person and on campus in Beverly, MA.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Responsibilities include:

  • Teach 24 credits per academic year -- 12 credits in both the fall and spring semesters (4 lecture courses each semester, or equivalent).

  • Attend department, school, and college meetings.

  • Participate in accreditation processes.

  • Engage in professional development, scholarship, research, and/or publishing.

  • Assist in curriculum development. 

  • Participate in department, school, and college service.

Requirements/Qualifications

  • PhD /Ed. D required

  • Prior higher education experience preferred

  • Five years in public school teaching experience preferred

  • Primary expertise in special education;

  • Ability to supervise students in the field;

  • Actively pursuing professional and/or academic scholarship;

  • Demonstrated ability to mentor students;

  • Previous experience in assessing quality teaching and learning

  • Previous experience in mentoring teacher candidates or teachers 

  • Knowledge of Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education licensure regulations

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work with a range of stakeholders

  • Familiarity with online course platforms, LMS, data systems

  • Familiarity with Google Suite including Calendar, Sheets, Docs, and Folders 

  • Provides service to the School and College;

  • Actively participates in relevant professional organizations;

In compliance with Massachusetts pay transparency law, the compensation for this faculty position is established through the College’s contractual salary structure. Pay rates are set for each faculty rank and appointment type. 

This position carries a fixed annual salary of $89,320 for a 12-month appointment. This amount represents base salary only and does not include benefits or other forms of compensation.
