The Accountant serves under the Accounting Supervisor on the Central Support Team.  A full-time position, the schedule is generally Monday-Friday for a total of 40 hours per week. This position is classified as non-exempt under the FLSA.

Responsibilities

• Handles all accounts payable through the IntAcct system, including purchasing, invoicing, and payables.

• Oversees all aspects of the Nexonia expense reporting system including processing, monthly reporting, and coordination with staff.

• Works with staff to provide monthly budget to actual reports and explanations for all variances.

• Supports a full accounting system in the areas of general and subsidiary ledgers, banking, and  credit card expense reporting, as necessary under the supervision of the Accounting Supervisor.

• Provides backup support for Finance Coordinator in the counting of Sunday offering and the donor management system.

• Supports the Accounting Supervisor on an as needed basis.

Qualifications

• Education - Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Accounting, or equivalent experience

• Experience - 3- 5 years prior experience in accounting or bookkeeping

• Technical Skills - Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Sage INTACCT accounting software and Google Docs

• Communication - Excellent oral and written communication skills

• Organization - Able to handle multiple responsibilities at once; manage information; and develop ongoing systems

• Project Management - Able to see through major projects and meet weekly deadlines

• Relational Ability - A “people” person who works well with Staff and volunteers of varying personality types
