Job Title: Unilever Spain Commercial Finance Business Partner

Location: Viladecans, Barcelona

Strategic Responsibilities

P&L ownership and performance management

  • Taking responsibility for the whole P&L of the 3 business units of Beauty, Personal, and Home Care, and the 2 business channels -retail and pharma.
  • Monitoring and reporting on key financial and commercial KPIs -revenue, pricing, volume, margin, marketing investment, trade terms-, ensuring agreed targets are met and promotional investments deliver expected returns.
  • Leading month-end closing, forecast, and planning activities, analyzing actual vs. plan/forecast/previous year, pointing out flag risks and growth opportunities.
  • Elaborating the annual plan in coordination with stakeholders: turnover, product cost, marketing, and investment contributing to business strategic decisions.
  • Monitoring performance management KPIs in coordination with marketing, customer development, and supply chain.
  • Identify and evaluate business risks and opportunities (commercial, financial, pricing, channel) and support recommended courses of action.
  • Provide post-implementation review of key initiatives and promotions: measuring actual results vs plans and extracting learning for future planning

Business partnering

  • Building an effective business partner relationship with your internal clients, offering savvy solutions, once you understand business challenges, category idiosyncrasies, retail and pharmaceutical channels, and clients' complexity.
  • Acting as a trusted and strategic adviser for finance, marketing and sales teams, providing insight, challenge, guidance on commercial decisions (pricing, promotions, investment), and ensuring alignment of financial strategy.
  • Driving continuous improvement, simplification, and automation of finance processes and reporting to enable better decision making and business agility, contributing to shaping the new organization’s way of working.
  • Work closely and influence and communicate effectively with non-finance stakeholders: translate financial insight into business-friendly language, build trust, drive change.


About You

Skills

  • Business passion and genuine curiosity for sales and marketing.
  • Excellent commercial acumen & strong business partnering credentials with a proven track record on delivery.
  • Owner’s mindset towards current business challenges and willingness to shape new growth scenarios.
  • Ability and enjoyment to handle complex new situations. Agility in learning and commitment to contribute to One Unilever's new organizational layout and way of working.
  • Quickness and reliability in evaluating alternative courses of action, providing data-based solutions.
  • Good empathetic listening skills, team player.
  • 5 years of experience in business partnering roles in the financial department or in the sales financial controlling area of multinationals.
  • A degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics and/or an MSc degree.
  • High level of English (C1).
