Our Bus Fleet Maintenance Office is seeking a bodyperson to diagnose, repair and inspect buses pertaining to bodywork and associated components. Responsible for carrying out the diagnosis of damaged bus bodywork, fittings and furnishings/upholstery. Implementing replacements, adjustments, or repairs to defective parts and components. Fabricating, shaping, and attaching structural and body components and constructing special components as required.
- Successful completion of high school.
- A minimum of one (1) years’ experience as a Journeyman Bodyman in a Transit or similar heavy duty repair environment.
- Detailed knowledge of heavy transit bus maintenance and repair, manufacturers specifications and schematics, MTO specifications and requirements pertaining to legislated bus inspection requirements, state of the art transit and mechanical technology.
- Must be able to obtain Forklift certificate
- Must have an Interprovincial/Provincial Motor Vehicle Body Repair licence.
- Must successfully complete environmental, safety and any other training required by corporate policy.
- Must have a valid Ontario Class “G” driver’s licence and must meet corporate standard for a good driving record.
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Class “C” driver’s licence and “Z” endorsement. Must be able to obtain Ozone Depletion Card.
- Ability to obtain job related certifications as required.

Days of Work / Shift Hours: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday 14:30 – 00:30
Off Days: Thursday, Friday & Saturday
- Carrying out the diagnosis of damaged bus bodywork, fittings and furnishings/upholstery.
- Implementing replacements, adjustments, or repairs to defective parts and components.
- Fabricating, shaping, and attaching structural and body components and constructing special components as required.
- Examining buses to determine extent of defects and repair requirements.
- Adjusting, repairing or replacing defective mechanical, pneumatic, electrical or hydraulic components, including accessibility equipment.
- Applying various methods of welding for repairs such as oxy-acetylene, electric Arc, mig welding, etc.
- Carrying out shop and road tests, including diagnostic tests, to verify the effectiveness of completed repairs.
- Completing on-the-road service calls.
- Assigning helper tasks and providing on-the-job training to apprentices and journeyman bodypersons.
- Performing other related duties as assigned within classification and lower.
