The Crane Coordinator is responsible for overseeing crane operations on the project, which includes planning and scheduling crane usage, ensuring safety compliance through inspections and risk assessments, and communicating with project managers, engineers, and site staff.

The role also includes coordinating the logistics of moving cranes to and from sites and ensuring all personnel and equipment are properly inducted and maintained. Managing self-perform craneage as well as contractor management.

The Project
The project includes the design, construction, operation and maintenance of the plant with first production in 2028. Works include marine works and tunnels, seawater intake system, a seawater reverse osmosis desalination plant, groundwater system, drinking water storage and pump system, supported by civil, electrical and bulk earthworks.

Key Accountabilities

  • Plan and schedule crane operations across multiple projects, ensuring availability and readiness of equipment.
  • Coordinate with lifting engineers and appointed persons to forecast and manage complex lifting requirements.
  • Ensure safety compliance by conducting inspections, monitoring weather conditions, and enforcing safety protocols.
  • Supervise critical and complex lifts, selecting appropriate cranes and rigging equipment for each task.
  • Facilitate communication between project managers, engineers, crane operators, and site personnel for smooth operations.
  • Manage logistics and administration, including crane transportation and site inductions.
  • Oversee maintenance and repairs of cranes to ensure operational reliability and adherence to procedures.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of crane operations, incidents, and compliance records.

Required Skills and Competencies

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong knowledge of crane operations, coordination, safety protocols, and regulatory compliance.
  • Proven experience managing critical and complex lifts, including lift studies and planning.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and planning abilities to manage multiple schedules and logistics efficiently.
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to assess site conditions to select appropriate equipment.
