Job Description:
The Engineering Section Manager directs Engineering Supervisors on their work ensuring that approved operational processes and best practices are developed, implemented, and deployed consistently throughout the company by introducing new technology and/or new ideas. He/she trains IE resources in the approved processes and work measurement application. This individual will identify new opportunities, design new processes, and direct pilot tests. They may also be responsible for working with a legal entity to gain protection of new inventive ideas. The Engineering Section Manager also assists the IE department in special re-engineering or new projects and takes a lead role in consulting opportunities. This individual may also be responsible for communicating all internal network moves to appropriate internal functions and assisting IE through move implementations and projects. Additional roles may also include assisting program managers with strategic customer migrations and managing gap analysis projects for proposals. Engineering Managers are likely to be responsible for network analysis projects and leading a team in final recommendations to Engineering Group Manager and/or Department Managers. The Engineering manager is an Industrial Engineer with experience in work measurement, methods and procedures, operations research, finance, information system, modeling, statistical analysis and site layout in a distribution environment. This position may manage others.
