.6 FTE Long Term Sub - Speech Language Pathologist presso Regional School District No. 10

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide speech and language therapy services to students in the BEST Program and to students with IEPs, in both individual and group settings
• Conduct comprehensive speech and language evaluations and develop individualized goals aligned with IEPs
• Develop and implement augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) strategies and systems, as appropriate
• Collaborate closely with special education teachers, general education staff, BCBAs, occupational therapists, BTs,  and paraeducators
• Participate in Planning and Placement Team (PPT) meetings and contribute to IEP development and progress reporting
• Provide training and support to staff and families on communication strategies and use of AAC
• Maintain accurate documentation and comply with all federal, state, and district regulations

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology and Connecticut Endorsement 061 - Speech and Language Pathologist Required
• ASHA CCC-SLP preferred
• Experience working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder, particularly in structured and specialized classroom settings
• Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), including high- and low-tech systems
• Functional communication development and behavior-communication connections
• Evidence-based practices for language and social communication interventions
• Collaborating within a multidisciplinary team framework
• Strong data collection and analysis skills to monitor progress and adjust interventions
• Knowledge of IDEA, IEP development, and school-based compliance practices
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
