The Product Safety and Compliance Engineer ensure all DN products and original equipment either designed or sold by DN meet required safety and regulatory standards. Arrange product certifications with accredited third-party agencies, ensuring that certifications are in place prior to product release and throughout a product's lifecycle. Performs / facilitates factory inspections, addresses safety incidents and serves as a safety liaison for sales, other internal stakeholders and customers. Serves as the local ISO Management system Advisor.

Responsibilities
- Provides Product & Safety Approvals support for an assigned product group, including products / equipment designed and manufactured in-house and externally but marketed by DN.
- Performs a range of Product & Safety Analyst duties including working with and training DN technical, product and manufacturing teams to understand current and future regulatory products / components requirements.
- Ensure compliance with international standards (UL, CSA, IEC, EU Directives, CE, FCC, RoHS, REACH, etc.) and regional regulations.
- Leveraging understanding of product-specific safety requirements to request / acquire necessary approvals.
- Performing factory audits with official inspectors.
- Perform and/or oversee tests such as electrical safety, mechanical hazard, flammability, and abnormal condition testing.
- Preparing technical reports, compliance documentation, and managing third-party certification processes (NRTL, CB Scheme) and liaising with regulatory agencies.
- Receiving and processing safety and regulatory questions / concerns from customers.
- Routing safety and Regulatory concerns to appropriate technical, product, sales or other internal teams.
- Works with suppliers, supply chain and other teams to ensure that necessary product testing, certifications and / or registrations are executed in accordance with business timelines.
- Engage with customers to understand safety and regulatory issues and concerns, addressing and/or escalating issues for resolution.
- Troubleshoots compliance issues, coordinating solutions with internal and external teams and suppliers.
- Maintains decision making roll over various safety and regulatory “Staff Keys”.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or another technical field.
- Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience in Product and Safety Approvals.
- Strong knowledge of international safety and regulatory standards (IEC 62368-1, EN55032 Class B; FCC Part 15 Subpart B, etc.).
- Hands-on experience with compliance testing and certification processes.
- Working knowledge of EMC, ESD compliance testing and associated testing equipment
- Understanding of global product safety and regulatory requirements.
- Good organizational and project management skills to efficiently and effectively execute multiple projects under tight deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications
- TÜV SUD Acceptance of Client Testing (ACT) certification
- UL Data Acceptance Program (DAP) certification
- Certification by an industry association such as iNARTE Exemplar Global
- Project Management Institute (PMI) certification
- Experience with designing PCBAs for compliance with emissions standards
