The Student Affairs Auxiliary Budget Analyst is responsible for developing budget documents, financial projections, and related guidance for unit, Division, and University leadership to assist in decision-making and accomplish goals and objectives for the auxiliary operations.

This is a 12-month adjunct contract with the option for full or part time, hybrid or fully remote work.

Primary Duties:

  • Support institution/division/department mission, vision, and values.

  • Oversee approved budgets and ensure proper accounting, budgeting processes, and financial training occurs for assigned Division of Student Affairs units. 

  • Collaborate with Housing and Residences Life team and Children’s Enrichment Center team to oversee and assess budget using trend analysis and forecasting involving historic, current-year, and multi-year review of expenditures and revenues. 

  • Compile annual budget and rate structures for Housing and Residence Life and Children’s Enrichment Center.  Prepare annual budget documents for presentation to Division and University leadership.

  • Prepare financial analysis reports and quarterly projections for Housing and Residence Life, Children’s Enrichment Center, and Student Health Center. 

  • Provide detail and explanations for budget variances. Provide recommendations and functional expertise to ensure satisfactory annual and future fiscal operations.

  • Prepare ad-hoc financial reports and comply with requests for information and audit processes. Implement changes in policies and procedures as necessary and monitor compliance.

  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of information between departmental and university financial systems via established reconciliation procedures and reporting. 

  • Advise on the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and programs related to the continuous improvement of Student Affairs auxiliaries in connection with university mission, values, and goals. Recommend systems and procedures for internal controls.

  • Perform other duties as required/assigned by leadership.

Salary & Benefits:

Minimum starting salary of $64,000 commensurate with experience.

Limited benefits package including medical, life insurance, wellness resources and tuition waiver effective on date of hire.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field

  • Minimum three (3) years related work experience

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

  • Experience with budgeting cycles, financial modeling, variance analysis, and operational forecasting

  • Experience with accounting/budgeting systems

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, to ensure effective interactions with individuals at all levels and backgrounds

  • Ability to solve problems, multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines, work independently, take initiative, and maintain confidentiality

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of software (MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and MS Teams)

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Six (6) years related work experience

  • Experience in higher education

  • Experience with Fund Accounting

  • Experience with AI for finance

  • Experience working with a multi-functional team

  • CPA certification

Working Conditions:

Normal office environment. Some travel may be required. Option for hybrid or fully remote.
