Position Overview
SEEM Collaborative is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Full-Time Paraprofessional to join our Middle School Program. The ideal candidate will support the classroom teacher in implementing instructional activities and individualized education plans (IEPs) while fostering a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment for all students.
Qualifications

High School Diploma required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree preferred

Experience working with children with special needs strongly preferred

Ability to lift, pull, or push up to 40 lbs
-
Ability to move quickly between standing and floor positions
-
Willingness to work with students who may exhibit verbal and/or physical aggression
-
Successful completion of fingerprint and CORI screening required
Responsibilities

Assist the classroom teacher in delivering instruction and implementing students’ IEP goals and objectives
-
Support the safety and well-being of students across all environments
-
Encourage and facilitate student independence, social skills, communication, and appropriate behavior
-
Assist in the inclusion of students with special needs in mainstream settings
-
Collect and record data as directed by the teacher

Participate in ongoing professional development and training opportunities

Provide personal care support as needed (e.g., toileting, self-care)

Supervise students during non-classroom times such as lunch, recess, or transitions
-
Perform additional duties as assigned by the classroom teacher, program principal, or executive director
