About Skyscanner

Everyone loves travelling, but planning comes with its challenges. That’s why we’ve spent 20 years building tools that turn travel-planning chaos into a breeze. Today, around 100 million travellers count on us every month to skip the whole “47 browser tabs open” phase and find flights, cars, and hotels quickly and easily.

Joining Skyscanner means becoming part of a global brand that's striving to become the planet’s go-to travel hack accessible for all. Our vision? To be the world’s number one travel ally. (Ambitious? Yes, but, hey, that’s what got us here.)

We’re looking for a visionary and accomplished Senior Director of Product Management, Data to lead the strategy, roadmap, and delivery of Skyscanner’s internal data platforms, tools, and capabilities.

You can be based in Glasgow, Edinburgh or London, where we adopt a hybrid working policy of working in the office twice a week

About the role

Hybrid

This is the most senior product leadership role in the Data Capabilities organisation. You’ll define and execute the company-wide data product strategy, ensuring we scale a modern, secure, and trusted data ecosystem that enables teams across Skyscanner to move faster, build smarter, and unlock value responsibly — including AI adoption.

Working across domains such as data platforms, governance, decision tooling, experimentation, and federated enablement, you’ll drive the evolution of our internal data capabilities through a multi-year lens — leading a team of 15+ PMs, and partnering across product, engineering, data science, and analytics.

What you’ll be doing

  • Setting the strategic vision: Define and communicate a clear, company-wide data product strategy aligned to Skyscanner’s long-term goals and platform ambitions.
  • Owning the roadmap: Build and deliver a cohesive roadmap across central data products, governance, experimentation, and enablement — tied to measurable business value.
  • Scaling platform capabilities: Ensure our internal data platform evolves to meet user needs, increase velocity, and support innovation at scale.
  • Driving federated data culture: Create the standards, tooling and guidance that enable teams across Skyscanner to produce and consume trusted data.
  • Leading product execution: Partner across engineering, science and analytics to prioritise effectively, deliver at pace, and optimise investment toward outcomes.

About you

  • Strategic product leader: You’ve led large-scale product teams (10+ PMs), crafted outcome-oriented strategies, and delivered impact through internal platforms.
  • Technically fluent: You understand modern data architecture (e.g. data mesh, streaming, semantic layers) and work credibly with engineers.
  • Business-aware: You navigate easily between technical detail and executive priorities, translating data capabilities into commercial value.
  • Governance-ready: You have a strong grasp of privacy, consent, and compliance requirements — and embed these into platform design.
  • AI-forward and adaptive: You’re excited by the emerging AI landscape, balancing vision with responsible delivery, and influencing strategy company-wide.
