The Operations Supervisor Accelerated Development Program is designed as a 15–18-month assignment to assist the site Operations Manager with day-to-day tasks and special projects. The program participants manage their own projects to assist the team in achieving goals. The identified candidate can begin in January or July of 2026 and will report to the Grove City, Ohio site for the duration of the training.

 

The Operations Supervisor ADP is “hosted” by the Global Supply Chain Organizational Development Department and participants are matched with one of our manufacturing or distribution facilities. After completion of the first 9 months of the program, the employee will gain a minimum of 6 months of experience as an Acting Supervisor within the warehouse or production plant completing 2 months in each shift (3 total).  

Responsibilities

Position Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting the Operations Manager within Production and Warehousing Operation functions including: 

  • Assisting with planning daily work scheduled 

  • Participate in continuous improvement projects and six sigma training 

  • Support site safety programs  

  • Understanding sites accounting and billing departments for production  

  • Working with the filling department and filling supervision needs 

  • Maintenance & engineering of site equipment and operating procedures to be able to identify and resolve any defect in equipment or products 

  • Understand inventory, routing, and shipping procedures 

  • Human resources exposure: coordinate and plan employee training, development, performance management, and corrective actions.  

  • Supervision of Site Operating teams 

  • Exposure to timekeeping and production control systems 

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements  

    • Must have a bachelor's degree or higher by the start of this development program. 

    • Must be willing to relocate for the position AND upon completion of the program.  

    • Must have a minimum overall GPA of 2.8   

    • Must be at least 18 years of age   

    • be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status now or in the future   

    • Must have at least one (1) year of experience with Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel and Power Point 

 

Preferred Qualifications  

    • Have a major in Managment, Engineering, Business Administration, Operations or Supply Chain 

    • Have experience with continuous improvement tools such as Six Sigma, 5-S, Lean Manufacturing, etc.  

    • Have previous Internship/Co-op experience within Sherwin-Williams.  

    • Have previous Internship, Co-op or work experience in a related field   

    • Have previous experience working in a team-oriented setting including work experience, extracurricular activities, military service, etc.
