The Medical Office Scribe is responsible for enhancing the efficiency and productivity of providers by performing real-time documentation of patient encounters in the electronic health record (EHR). This role enables clinicians to focus on direct patient care by managing the documentation workflow, contributing to a better patient experience, reduced provider burnout, and improved clinical efficiency.
This position directly supports Augusta Health’s mission to improve the health and well-being of our community by ensuring that documentation is accurate, timely, and compliant, ultimately aiding in the delivery of safe, effective, and patient-centered care.
Education, Licensure/Certification:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Certified Medical Scribe Specialist (CMSS), Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA), or equivalent certification preferred
Experience:
- 1+ years of experience as a medical scribe or in a similar clinical documentation support role
Competencies, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Working knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
- Familiarity with EHR systems (e.g., Athena, Meditech)
- Excellent listening and communication skills
- Strong attention to detail, grammar, and spelling
- High level of professionalism and discretion with sensitive information
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Commitment to team-based care and customer service excellence
- Dependable, punctual, and self-motivated
