We are looking for a dynamic Director of Practice Operations to join our growing team.

Position Summary

Kidney Specialists of Southern Nevada is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Practice Operations to oversee the strategic and day-to-day operations of our multi-site organization.

This individual will serve as a key member of the leadership team—partnering closely with the physicians, advanced practitioners, and administrative staff to drive operational excellence, financial performance, and a culture of collaboration and accountability. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who brings both strategic insight and a strong understanding of the business of medicine, particularly within nephrology and dialysis-based care.

This pivotal leadership role is responsible for ensuring clinical excellence is matched by operational precision — aligning people, processes, and performance to deliver outstanding patient care and organizational success. The Director will partner closely with physician leadership, finance, and executive management to elevate the efficiency, scalability, and profitability of the practice, while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership & Oversight

  • Lead operations across multiple practice sites, including hospital, LTACH, CKD clinics, transplant centers, ambulatory surgery centers, and dialysis units.
  • Oversee physician and advanced practitioner scheduling, coverage rotations, and PTO management to ensure continuity of care and operational efficiency.
  • Direct the onboarding and integration of new providers and partners, fostering engagement and alignment with the practice’s mission and culture.
  • Manage staff scheduling, conflict resolution, hiring, and professional development across clinical and administrative teams.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance workflow, patient experience, and team productivity.

Revenue Cycle & Financial Management

  • Serve as the billing liaison for the practice, overseeing denials, AR, collections, and coding accuracy.
  • Maintain current knowledge of nephrology-specific billing standards, including telemedicine and CPT code updates (e.g., G2211).
  • Manage credentialing, practice licensure, authorizations, referrals, and payor contracting to optimize reimbursement and compliance.
  • Oversee invoice review, accounts receivable, and accounts payable management.
  • Administer and monitor all provider incentive programs.
  • Track and analyze operational metrics such as dialysis census, ensuring accurate data capture and reporting.

Data Reporting & Performance Metrics

  • Collect, analyze, and report key practice data and performance metrics to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Develop standardized reporting dashboards and tools to monitor productivity, patient outcomes, and financial performance.
  • Partner with finance, IT, and clinical teams to ensure data accuracy and alignment across systems (Epic, pMD, and other reporting tools).
  • Present regular reports and insights to the Board of Directors, physician leadership, and operational teams to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement based on operational and clinical performance data.

Governance, Compliance & Risk Management

  • Serve as the Compliance Officer and Safety Officer, ensuring adherence to all regulatory, legal, and clinical standards.
  • Oversee malpractice, workers compensation, and officers & directors’ insurance, along with cybersecurity oversight.
  • Coordinate Board of Directors (BoD) meetings, agendas, minutes, and rotation schedules, maintaining organized and transparent governance processes.
  • Champion policies that promote patient safety, staff accountability, and compliance with state and federal regulations.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Build and lead a high-performing operations team that embodies the practice’s values of excellence, integrity, and service.
  • Collaborate with physician and executive leadership to align business operations with clinical objectives.
  • Foster a positive, growth-oriented culture that values teamwork, open communication, and continuous improvement.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to practice leadership, providing strategic recommendations based on data, financial performance, and operational insights.
