Are you passionate about maintaining safe, clean, and efficient workplaces? We have an exciting opportunity for a Health, Safety & Facilities Operative to join our team at our busy Distribution Centre in Corby.

This is a hands-on and rewarding role that will appeal to someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys variety in their day, and wants to be part of a team that values employee engagement, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement.

What You’ll Be Doing
•    Reporting directly to the Safety & Facilities Manager to support the smooth running of site operations.
•    Overseeing warehouse and yard hygiene, ensuring compliance with site hygiene schedules and standards.
•    Supporting office and toilet hygiene during holidays or absences of the Office Hygienist, including quarterly deep cleans.
•    Playing a key role in the SHEQ Team, helping to drive and maintain site safety standards alongside the Site Safety Manager.
•    Attending training courses to continually build your skills and knowledge.
•    Using your ‘handy person’ skills for painting, basic plumbing, and small building or equipment repairs.
•    Building your knowledge of MHE (Material Handling Equipment) and assisting engineers during servicing and repairs.
•    Driving and operating MHE equipment such as floor sweepers and counterbalance FLT.
•    Managing stock levels for essential maintenance and cleaning equipment.
•    Acting as a site safety representative, promoting a proactive health and safety culture across the site.
•    Conducting weekly safety testing on fire systems, pumps, and the backup generator.
•    Taking on additional duties as needed to keep the site running smoothly.

What We’re Looking For
•    Experience within a logistics or food industry environment.
•    A proactive, diligent approach with the ability to manage schedules effectively.
•    Basic DIY skills – confidence in carrying out small repairs, painting, or decorating (a trade qualification would be a bonus but not essential).
•    Someone self-motivated, able to work independently and communicate clearly with colleagues at all levels.
•    Good IT and record-keeping skills, particularly for managing non-vehicular defects and maintenance logs.

Why Join Us?
•    A supportive and engaging team environment where your contribution is valued.
•    Opportunities for training and development within the business.
•    A flexible approach to working hours to help support a healthy work-life balance.
•    The chance to make a real difference in maintaining a safe, efficient, and welcoming workplace.
If you’re ready to take the next step in your facilities or health & safety career, we’d love to hear from you!
