POSITION TITLE: Senior Budget and Cost Accountant (Non – LO – No Consumer Contact)
JOB STATUS: Part time/Hourly
DEPARTMENT: Operations
REPORTS TO: Budget and Cost Accounting Supervisor
TRAVEL REQUIRED: As Needed
WORK SCHEDULE: Campus Flex 3
JOB SUMMARY:
The Senior Budget and Cost Accountant is responsible for performing a set of planning, forecasting, budgeting, and analytical activities that support a company’s major business decisions and overall financial health by helping to combine financial data, operational data, and external data (like market trends) in one place and provide analysis to plan for the future and guide more profitable decision-making while, also, providing support to ERP System modernization efforts. Regular communication with executive team members.
JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Financial Planning
· Leads the team with monthly forecasting, reviews forecast reconciliations, and recommends updates
· Responsible for yearly budget process by providing year over year variance analysis assumptions to senior management and Corporate
· Analyzes gathered budget information from various business units during yearly budget season to ensure completeness and accuracy
· Completes analysis of prior year actuals and applies budget assumptions to complex modeling used for decisions
· Analyzes various statistics and metrics monthly to be utilized during forecasting and budgeting
2. Month-end Reconciliation Process
· Reviews various reports and calculations to validate the recording of Current Expected Credit Loss in compliance with ASU 2016-13
o Reviews monthly reports and assumptions for accuracy and approves related journal entries
o Performs quarterly assumptions testing to ensure reasonableness
o Recommends quarterly and yearly updates to the assumptions used in the model
o Reviews for additional reserves to be updated on a quarterly basis
· Reviews reconciliations related to mortgage servicing rights, product yield, and end-of-month deed records to assist with review of general ledger accounts for reasonableness, trends, or anomalies on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis
· Analyzes and provides variance summary to senior management of monthly budget to actual profit and loss statements
· Helps lead the compilation of interim and yearly audit selections from inhouse and 3rd party auditors
3. Profit Cost Analysis
· Reviews monthly reports for different business units’ leaders
o Analyzes individual business unit reports based on the allocations of profit and costs through the Profit Cost Module system
o Approves the distribution of Profit and Loss reports and Servicing and Originating Cost reports to business unit leaders
· Recommends solutions to questions from business unit leaders
· Produces complex ad hoc reports using the profit cost module
· Works with business units analyzing business processes to ensure data is appropriately classified and makes recommendations for improvements where necessary
4. Continuous Improvement/Leadership Opportunities
· Collaborates with team to recommend accounting enhancements and modernization projects addressing inefficiencies
· Completes company provided training to stay knowledgeable of current industry standards
· Attends weekly team trainings to further knowledge of team projects, tasks, etc…
· Coaches Staff and Intermediate Accountants on new processes, improvement opportunities and additional training as needed
· Assists with identifying team development opportunities
5. Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:
· College degree or advanced degree required in accounting or finance.
· Advance Degree a plus
· CPA a plus
· Four to six years or more of experience.
· Advanced Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
· Experience with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.
· Querying Knowledge.

· Ability to work in a team environment.
· Motivated and self-starter.

· Willing to learn, hard-working, determined, and assertive.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
· Must be able to remain in a stationary position 75% of the time.
· Ability to operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a telephone, calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
· Must be comfortable with various forms of communication including but not limited to email, Teams, Zoom, and over the phone.
· Must be able to exchange accurate information at all times.
· Will work in a state-of-the-art indoor temperature controlled, sealed window office environment
