At Alabama Credit Union, we want you to feel good about your future. This placement opportunity is offered through the Marketing Department at the corporate headquarters in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. The role of the Marketing Intern position is to prepare candidates for future work, educational, and citizenship responsibilities through education and experience. The Marketing Intern will create engaging communications to be distributed via social media and our website to educate our members regarding benefits of our products and services. In addition to working with our Marketing Department the intern would assist our Foundation in preparing for the start of a new fundraising year.


Start Date/Duration:

This internship is part-time (approximately 37.5 hours per week) and temporary (10 weeks).

The program begins on May 26, 2026 and runs through July 31, 2026. Work hours are Monday-Friday, 8:30-5:00.


The Marketing Intern will...The Marketing Intern will create engaging communications to be distributed via social media and our website to educate our members regarding benefits of our products and services. In addition, to working with our Marketing Department the intern would assist our Foundation in preparing for the start of a new fundraising year.

  • Produce marketing material for use on the Alabama Credit Union website, and social media channels.
  • Work on graphic design projects, event planning, and Bama Bound
  • Attend classes created to provide an edge in personal development
  • Serve on a community service project team that will focus on achieving measurable outcomes, to be determined by the team
  • Provide friendly and accurate service to all members and employees
  • Occasionally, interns may be required to travel to area branches

Requirements

Successful candidates will display the following:
• A desire to get it right- to uphold ACU's high service standards when working with members and co-workers; to go all-out in completing your work correctly; to perform with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail; and to fix problems when they occur.
• An "I've got your back" attitude- All of our employees should carry out their jobs with the end result on our members and co-workers in mind. We will rely on you to complete projects that benefit our employees and members. You have only ten weeks to learn from us, and we want to know that you can get the most out of it; great punctuality and attendance are expected in order to make this happen.
• A wish to make others smile- Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy; good oral and written communication skills so that you may confidently and competently share knowledge; and good organizational skills will support this.
• Never settling for less- We seek individuals who are pushing the envelope on their own personal and professional development. It is preferred that Marketing Intern candidates have successfully completed coursework in Telecommunications and Film, Photography, Graphic Design, or a related field; experience with Windows and Macintosh operating systems; and the ability to exercise initiative and good judgment and make sound decisions.
• A history of engaging your world- Positively impacting your community through service, and a desire to get involved to create positive experiences for others are advantageous.

  • Proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and web-based applications.
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite is preferred.

Completed coursework in Marketing is strongly desired.
