JOB SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for generating material take-offs, run tickets and bills of material based upon millwork shop drawings while directly communicating with drafters for constructability and drawing errors, material manager for finishes and scheduling, purchasing for material orders and the shop for work order constructability and release.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Accountable for the completeness and accuracy of material take-offs, run tickets, and bills of materials
• Read through shop drawings released for fabrication for errors and omissions & return to drafter for correction as required
• Identify and list shippable assemblies
• Identify what parts are shipping from the Milwaukee facility and generate a complete ship-ticket noting them
• Generate an accurate and complete list of part sizes required
• List hardware required
• Note specifics details of each part
• Optimize sheet goods
• Create custom cut-to-size veneer panel lists
• Identify and note what part will be cut on the CNC
• Generate sheet lay-ups and send to the saw
• Review all materials take-off and make certain sufficient quantities have been ordered
• Update the material take-off as required and inform materials personnel and purchasing
• Direct purchasing to order any materials that have not to date
• Distribute printed labels and paperwork to the shop floor
• Save pdf of paperwork to proper folder
• Maintain documentation of projects by updating work order
• Cross-trained in ability to draft with AutoCAD
