This position is non-benefits eligible.


Under broad supervision, performs routine maintenance on buildings, facilities, and grounds. Maintains agency fleet vehicles. Cleans and maintains assigned areas.


All District 4 Public Health, County BOH employees are deemed essential employees in the event of an emergency. As such, you may be called on to participate in an event not limited to but including, staffing a shelter, a Specimen Point of Collection Site (SPOC) and/or Point of Distribution site (POD). When you are called on to participate, you are expected and it will be a part of your job requirement to participate, whether the emergency occurs during or outside regular work hours.

Position Duties

  • Inspect and ensure maintenance and housekeeping of agency fleet vehicles.
  • Inspect and maintain facility at District Office.
  • Inspect generator; run weekly test cycle.
  • Oversight of sprinkler system usage.
  • Inspect lawn sprinkler system for leaks.
  • Schedule generator maintenance at facilities requested.
  • Request bids/quotes for any updates, changes and maintenance to facility and fleet.
  • Schedule maintenance agreements with HVAC vendor for biannual service.
  • Create and maintain logs of fleet for fleet vehicles on monthly basis.
  • Report directly to the District Administrator.
  • Courier service as requested.
  • Performs job responsibilities with minimal supervision.
  • Serves as job expert or organization resource in assigned areas.
  • Assists contractors or skilled equipment and supplies, as needed.
  • Maintain grounds, parking, and storage areas.
  • Moves/assembles furniture, operates hand tools and power cleaning equipment.
  • Performs routine carpentry, plumbing, and electrical repairs.
  • Set up meeting spaces for meetings.
  • Move boxes, etc. as needed to upstairs storage and to external storage units.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Three (3) years of job-related experience; OR One year of experience at the lower-level Facility Maintenance Wkr 2 (FES051) or position equivalent.
 
Note: This position requires a valid, unexpired driver’s license with passing driving record from agency automobile insurance company.

Other Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Basic Plumbing, electrical, and HVAC knowledge
  • Basic automotive knowledge based on requirement to manage agency fleet vehicles
