Education:
Requires a PhD in Polymer Science, Chemistry, or Chemical Engineering
Licenses/Certifications/Requirements:
Prefers experience in the commercialization of material technologies, NSF I-Corps completion, or industrial experience.
Experience:
Requires up to 2 years related experience in a laboratory/research environment. Prefers a minimum of 4 years of experience in the research field (PhD research considered relevant if on polyurethane synthesis or cationic polymerization).
Leadership:
Other researcher will manage and maintain cryogenic reactors, characterization equipment (GPC, DSC, tensile testers, DMA), and should be able to work in a team and speak publicly on technical aspects of the research.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to handle heavy stainless steel reactors, large liquid nitrogen dewars, and high-pressure cylinders.
Working Conditions:
The working environment will be a synthetic chemistry laboratory and shared analytical laboratories with between 7 and 15 graduate students and undergraduate peers.
