Foreman - Equipment Maintenance presso Ernest N. Morial Convention Center

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

Plan and assign work schedules of personnel to ensure that facility maintenance and client requirements are completed in a timely manner.  

• Assign personnel to general equipment maintenance projects and show equipment installs.
• Supervise the daily assignments of personnel to ensure adequate productivity levels and effectiveness of the workgroup.
• Inspect assignments of personnel and ensure the quality of work performed is in accordance with established standards and guidelines.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment logs, and maintenance schedules.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for the entire vehicle fleet.

Demonstrate knowledge of occupational safety standards, city, state and national codes and policies relevant to work performed by maintenance personnel. 

Order materials and equipment required for the accomplishment of duties and maintain records relevant to supplies, equipment and personnel to ensure the successful completion of duties and accurate billing. 

Interface all building repairs in harmony with other internal functional departments as required minimizing downtime and maximizing effectiveness. 

Assist service vendors and contractors as required in completing their contractual obligations in accordance with established guidelines and procedures. 

ACCOUNTABILITIES FOR SUPERVISION

• Participate in decisions related to the selection, promotion, transfer, pay and discipline of assigned personnel.
• Orient employees to MCCNO policies and procedures; clearly communicate job duties and responsibilities so individuals may proceed with certainty in the performance of their positions.
• Personally conduct or oversee training for new employees to ensure established procedures are clearly understood and followed.
• Monitor the work performance of assigned personnel on a continual basis, conduct effective performance appraisals, and take corrective action whenever necessary.
• Create a working climate in which assigned personnel are motivated to develop their skills and abilities and demonstrate by personal example the desired standards of conduct and work performance.
• Administer MCCNO policies in a fair and equitable manner with regard to discipline, tardiness, absenteeism or insubordination and fully document all incidents and actions taken.

Other Skills and Abilities                                                     

• Must demonstrate technical expertise in vehicle maintenance and repair.
• Must be able to operate heavy machinery such as tow motors, lifts, boom trucks, etc. 
• In-depth knowledge of automotive systems, mechanics, and maintenance procedures. Familiarity with manufacturer's standards for repairs.
