JOB SUMMARY

At Exzeo, we are passionate about technology and look for that passion in all our team.  As the BSA Manager, you will lead an application development team of 7+ to organize and monitor workloads, minimize impediments, and ensure overall quality of the development lifecycle.  The application is an in-house developed platform designed to support our parent company’s property and casualty homeowners’ insurance carrier.  This application supports internal employees as well as thousands of independent insurance agencies across multiple states.  You will help the team to groom, deliver and prioritize features to support the growth of the business.  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage workloads/priorities of team to ensure quality and timely deliverables
• Participate in software grooming sessions
• Coach team, helping them improve their skills and grow their careers
• Work closely with the key stakeholders and software team to define and implement the software projects
• Meet at least monthly with production support to review top support issues and work with senior staff to provide solutions
• Ensure SDLC processes are kept Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliant
• Other duties as assigned

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• Property & Casualty Insurance experience required
• Prior experience leading and mentoring software engineers and business analysts
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills required
• Clear, concise oral and written communication skills, including an ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams
• An ability to work in a fast-paced, ambiguous and rapidly changing environment
• Adept at multitasking and handling multiple projects simultaneously under strict deadlines
• Experience with User Acceptance Testing methodologies and documentation preferred
• Familiar with Agile software development preferred
• Experience writing SQL Server queries preferred

EDUCATION & TRAINING

• Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or related field preferred
• 3+ years of experience in software engineering management
• 3+ years of experience in the Property & Casualty field
