Essential Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary customer service contact, i.e. confirmation and clarity of orders and proactive communication of order status, tracking open items and changes, interface between customer and shipping company, manage inventory levels for storage orders and release shipments accordingly.
  • Price list creation and maintenance.
  • Set up customer accounts in SAP, process offers and orders in SAP and enter required information into customer portals.
  • Update offers per customer requests.
  • Process insurance applications and alternate payment requirements.
  • Issuance of credits / debits as required.
  • Communicate Purchase Order change requests from customers.
  • Initiate request in SAP for PP material number and customer numbers.
  • Responsibility for sending a fully completed inquiry checklist for new customers to the technical department, discuss new inquiries for existing customers with technical experts and enter offer requests accordingly.
  • Provides expert input concerning production and material planning.
  • Analyze, coordinate, and communicate production schedules, inventory, supplier schedules, and delivery schedules.
  • Set up production schedules for larger customers based on their forecasts and coordinate shipping schedules accordingly.
  • Contribute to trade show preparation, organize trade show activities, and lead follow-up.
  • Function as communication channel between sales office and other departments in the organization.
  • Report market updates for our Sales Office to Austria in biweekly meetings.
  • Support Sales Manager in various topics as needed (e.g. setting up meetings, communication exchange between departments, etc.).
  • Analyze weakness and provide suggestions to correct or eliminate issues.
  • Coordinate, as appropriate, quality issues and engineering changes between the Company, suppliers, and customers.
  • Enter all customer complaints within the quality system.
  • Use company-specific communication tools.
  • Establish and maintain a professional relationship with customers while promoting company initiatives and values.

Education/Experience

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years related experience required.
  • SAP experience preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to resolve conflicting interests.
  • Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills.

Required Skills

  • Knowledge of automotive and ISO standards.
  • Knowledge of supplier negotiation.
  • Ability to read blue prints.
  • Thorough understanding of manufacturing and supply chain operations and the relationship MRP systems have to that operation.
  • Proficient in inventory control.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, ERP and other related software applications.

Physical Requirements

The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds regularly and 20 pounds occasionally.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Distance vision, Peripheral vision, Depth perception and Ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands or fingers to handle, feel, reach, and grasp. The employee is occasionally required to balance and stoop, kneel, or crouch.
