Job Description:

Design mechanical and electromechanical parts, products and systems by developing and testing specifications and methods.  Complete engineering projects by managing, organizing, controlling, and evaluating project elements.

Qualifications:

QUALIFICATIONS:          

Education:      

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Equivalent

Experience:    

  • Minimum of 1-3 years of broad-based manufacturing experience.

Skills/Abilities:           

  • Effective communicative and writing skills
  • PC computer operational skills
  • 3D modeling software experience (Solidworks preferred)
  • Must be able to lift 30 lbs.                                                                 

ESSENTIAL RESULTS:

  • Initiate project objectives by studying design plans, engineering drawings, and reviewing specifications and requirements.
  • Maintain project schedule by monitoring project progress, coordinating activities, and resolving problems.
  • Initiate mechanical and electromechanical systems and products by designing and conducting research programs, applying principles of mechanics and materials; study customer requirements, research and test manufacturing and assembly methods and materials.
  • Confirm system, part and product capabilities by designing feasibility and testing methods, testing properties; collect, analyze, and summarize information trends.
  • Assure system and product quality by designing and modifying equipment for fabricating, building, assembling, and installing components; design testing methods; test finished product and systems capabilities; confirm fabrication, assembly and installation processes. 
  • Provide engineering information by answering questions and requests.
  • Maintain systems and product database by collecting, analyzing, summarizing, and entering all such data.
  • Knowledge of UL, ISO 9001/2000 standards
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. 
  • Perform any other job duties as may be required.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs. without assistance. Anything above 30 lbs. requires a team lift.
  • Must be able to reach above shoulder level, waist level and below waist
  • Must be able to use a pallet jack, lift equipment and weight plates with a chain hoist/gantry crane (Certified through Peerless-AV).
  • Must be able to use hand tools; cordless drill/driver and pneumatic rivet gun.
  • Must be able to work in non-dust/non-climate-controlled areas.
  • Must be able to wear required safety PPE.
