Responsible for preparing and processing shipments of Franklin Electric pump part products. Maintains shipment-related records. Oversees shipping line. 


Key Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Prepares and reviews for accuracy all bills of lading on shipments.
  • Routes orders to meet the company’s and customers’ requirements.
  • Tracks and expedites outbound shipments with carriers. Schedules truck line and other carrier pickups and distribution.
  • Maintains records such as (but not limited to) invoices and vendor receipts. Verifies shippers’ rates and resolve issues.
  • Processes normal and special shipments.
  • Coordinates inventory and participates in physical inventories.
  • Performs other related duties as required or assigned.

  • Maintains confidentiality and uses discretion with business information.
  • Reads and understands documents such as policy manuals, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Writes routine reports and correspondence.
  • Adds, subtracts, multiplies, and divides numbers (using currency and other forms of measurement).
  • Utilizes common-sense understanding in order to carry out written, oral, or diagrammed instructions.
  • Deals with problems involving several known variables in situations of routine nature.
  • Plans the time, method, manner, and/or performance sequence of own work; may also occasionally assist in planning work assignments performed by others within a limited area of operation.
  • Frequently makes decisions of both minor and major importance, which may affect the work operations of other employees and/or clientele to a moderate degree.
  • Completes some moderately repetitive tasks.
  • Uses noncomplex machines and equipment (adding machines, calculators, copy/fax machines, etc.).
Education and Experience
  • Equivalent of four years of high school (required).
  • Three to five years of relevant education or experience in inventory management, logistics, or a related field (required).
  • Familiarity with pump parts (preferred).
  • Experience operating a forklift to load trucks and move inventory ready for shipment (required).
  • Shipping and ERP software experience (required).
Computer Skills
  • Intermediate: Word processing, database.
  • Basic: Alphanumeric data entry, spreadsheet.
Certificates and Licenses
  • None.

  • While performing the functions of this job, the employee is:
    • Continually required to stand or walk and to reach with hands and arms.
    • Occasionally required to sit.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
