The Commercial team is essential to Tropicana Brand Group’s success by driving revenue growth, acquiring and retaining customers, and providing valuable market insights. Working closely with other departments to align sales strategies with business goals, help shape pricing and product development and keep the company competitive and responsive to market shifts. By building strong customer relationships, maximizing profitability, and identifying new opportunities for growth, the team contributes to both short-term and long-term success.

Your Next Pour: The Opportunity

We are looking to add a Senior Category Manager to our Commercial team. This role will be responsible for delivering strategic insights that support the Tropicana Brands sales team and key retail accounts. The Category Manager will identify market trends, competitive threats, brand strategies, and customer strategies to drive sales and grow market share. Tropicana is looking for a critical thinker with exceptional communication, influencing, and relationship management skills who thrives in a fast-paced environment. Additional responsibilities include:

  • Serve as a thought leader and "go-to" resource for category, shopper, and consumer trends, and merchandising solutions.
  • Analyze category performance using POS, syndicated, and panel data to make business-building recommendations.
  • Leverage multiple data sources to understand consumer and shopper behavior across products, geographies, cohorts, and occasions.
  • Develop retailer-relevant sell stories using shopper and consumer insights.
  • Provide expert analysis and insights to customer team members to support optimal marketplace decisions.
  • Lead strategic planning initiatives including new product introductions, pricing analyses, promotional planning, and assortment impact assessments.
  • Stay current on category management best practices and continuously improve departmental capabilities.

The Perfect Blend: Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in Category Management, Insights, or Analytics within the consumer packaged goods industry.
  • 5 years of experience analyzing and interpreting data.
  • Demonstrated analytical, critical thinking, and thought leadership skills.
  • Experience with syndicated POS and panel data tools.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and retail partners.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously in a collaborative environment.

Foundational Ingredients: Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; preferably in Business, Marketing, or related field. MBA a plus.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Must be located in the Chicago, IL surrounding area or willing to relocate for the duration of employment.
  • Willingness to adapt and thrive in a blended work environment with 3-days in office, seamlessly transitioning between remote work and in-office operations.
  • Travel up to 10%.
