This person will own the life-cycle of tools that support commissioning, calibration, and field service diagnostics. A critical part of this role is driving faster, more reliable system deliveries at scale—streamlining and automating the tooling to reduce delivery time, minimize errors, and support consistent performance across all deployments.
What you'll do
Commissioning & Calibration Tools
- Develop and maintain software and hardware tools that simplify system commissioning and calibration.
- Automate repetitive tasks to reduce manual intervention and errors.
Field Service Enablement
- Build diagnostic and data-pulling tools that give field service representatives better visibility into system health and performance.
- Translate complex technical processes into intuitive workflows usable by non-technical staff.
Engineering Efficiency
- Identify bottlenecks in engineering workflows and create tooling to offload tasks to operations or field teams.
- Partner with engineers to codify best practices into repeatable, automated processes.
Collaboration & Strategy
- Work cross-functionally with Engineering, Field Service, and Product teams to define tooling needs and priorities.
- Establish a roadmap for tool development aligned with company goals.
- Provide documentation, training, and support to ensure adoption and success of tools.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field. 7+ years of work experience in the software engineering field
- Strong background in software/tool development (internal tools, automation, or DevOps experience a plus).
- Experience working in scaled production environments.
- Experience with diagnostics, calibration, or commissioning systems in a technical production environment.
- Ability to bridge the gap between highly technical engineering tasks and user-friendly tools for nontechnical users.
- Proven process engineering track record of identifying workflow inefficiencies and delivering impactful solutions.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with hardware-software integration, especially for industrial or electromechanical systems.
- Proficiency with scripting and automation languages.
- Knowledge of cloud-based tool deployment or integration with internal systems (e.g., APIs, databases, authentication).
- Strong documentation and training mindset.
Experience in field service tooling or supporting distributed teams.
