Description

Asphalt Green, Battery Park City, is looking to hire an energetic Tap Instructor to lead a weekday morning class with potential for growth.

Instructors are expected to:

· Have experience teaching Tap to adults in a group setting.

· Be proficient in teaching various Tap routines and choreography.

· Continually offer feedback to class participants, always coaching to the positive.

· Demonstrate Tap technique and footwork properly, including body positions.

· Instructors should be able to spot technique flaws quickly and correct participants within 1-2 cues.

· Have experience (or be comfortable) being mic’d up.

· Understand that empathy for students brings success to the coach and to the class

Qualifications

Our group exercise instructors have a pay rate of $53 per hour. Qualified candidates will possess a dance-related degree and have a background teaching Tap. All candidates must have a current CPR/AED certification. A nationally recognized fitness certification is a plus. We offer competitive rates and a positive, welcoming work environment.
