Water Service Tech presso Parish

SUMMARY OF PRIMARY JOB FUNCTION: Performs various activities and maintenance tasks related to the Parish’s water maintains repairs  water leaks fire hydrants work underground valves and work on water meter. QUALIFICATIONS: Must have a high school diploma or G.E.D. One year of utility maintenance experience desirable, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must attain at least a  Water Distribution Class I Operator’s Certification through the Louisiana Department of Health within eighteen (18) months of appointment to position. Progress must be made toward completion of higher classifications of certification in Water Distribution when experience requirements of LDH are met.  Must possess a valid Louisiana Driver’s License and a driving record satisfactory to the Parish’s Risk Manager. Required licenses and certifications must be kept current during employment with the Parish, including maintaining LDH certification requirements.  OTHER:  Must be able to accept call-out, standby, work overtime including weekends and holidays as assigned.  

Starting salary dependent on level of LDH certification and experience.
