Simpson Academy’s mission is to educate and empower young mothers. The student worker program at
Simpson Academy is aimed to provide job skills training and financial support to young mothers who attend
Simpson Academy. In turn, we hope students will show improved attendance and gain the skills needed to be
successful in life after Simpson Academy.
Job Summary:
Simpson’s student worker program will focus mostly in the area of boutique management and beautification.
Under the direct supervision of our Staff Boutique Manager and Office Clerk, students will work to keep the
space organized and plan boutique events for students and their families. When the boutique does not need
support, the student worker will perform administrative support duties in our main or attendance offices.
This student employee position will be compensated for time worked on an hourly basis. The work schedule for
this role will consist of an estimated up to 10 hours per week - 2 hrs/day before or after school hours for 5 days
per week. Summer employment is possible to prepare our school and boutique space for the new school year.
Summer hours will be negotiable.

The Simpson Academy Student Worker will complete duties such as the following:
● Collect, sort and organize/inventory our student/baby boutique
● Complete basic administrative tasks such as copying, filing, or organizing

The following knowledge, skills, and abilities are preferred:
● Ability to apply critical thinking skills when faced with challenges in order to problem solve and arrive at
a solution
● Strong verbal and written communication skills
● Ability to collaborate with school staff and peer students as an active member of a team
● Proficient in the use of digital technology (ex: basic computers skills)
● Capable of maintaining professionalism in various situations
● Strong work ethic and drive to successfully complete assigned tasks

In order to qualify for this student worker position, candidates must be actively enrolled as a CPS
student at Simpson Academy. A valid work permit will be required for students under the age of 16.
