LOCATION: VaporTech onsite in Longmont, Colorado
POSITION SUMMARY:
The role is responsible for the coordination and participation in manufacturing of VaporTech’s Diamond Seal Technology (DST) products. At a high level, this includes; handling of DST raw material, processing of raw material through VaporTech’s Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) processes, and final packaging/inspection—all while conforming to VaporTech safety and quality practices.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBIITIES:
Overall coordination of shift activities to ensure smooth operation at maximum efficiency, including; break timing, proper documentation, in-process quality inspection, etc.
Loading/unloading component fixtures for DST product cleaning, PVD processing, and preparation for shipment of finished goods.
Perform initial receiving inspection of raw materials, as well as final inspection of product prior to customer shipment.
Perform inventory transactions to ensure accuracy of raw material, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished goods.
Perform “target changes” on coating equipment at a daily frequency. This is a basic maintenance process that requires minimum knowledge of tools (wrench, power drill, etc.), drawings/schematics, water cooling systems, etc.
Perform training and onboarding of new DST operators.
Perform random finished good audits (finish good evaluation, or FPE) to ensure quality levels acceptable.
Calculate total production output per shift and participate in discussion/activities to increase production output.
Perform safety and 5S audits to ensure safety expectations are met.

Promote a culture of dedication to safety of our employees, and commitment to meeting the customer’s quality expectations.
Engage in scheduled cycle counts pertaining to both raw material and finished goods within DST department and participate in any potential follow-up investigation regarding any findings.
Adherence to work instructions regarding the operation of our PVD systems, as well as assist in identifying areas to improve efficiency and ongoing quality improvements.
Performance of changeovers in DST Department.
Management of material flow between raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods.
Maintains a clean and safe work area.
All other duties as assigned.
EXPECTED OUTCOMES:
Efficient and on-time production of VaporTech’s Diamond Seal Technology (DST) products, in a safe fashion, while meeting customer quality standards.
SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office software (mainly Excel & Outlook).
Experience working with vacuum thin film deposition processes and equipment a plus.
Comfortable with hands-on equipment maintenance activities (very basic) and familiarity working with hand-tools.
Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision.
Strong sense of time organization, prioritization, and works with a sense of urgency;
Self-disciplined, possesses the ability to initiate work with little to no prompting.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
3+ years of relevant work experience in lean manufacturing environment preferred;
Must be authorized to work in the US.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be capable of lifting and moving 50 lbs., to stand, kneel, stoop, crouch and walk throughout the day and to operate machinery and power tools.
