What We’re Doing
Do you want to be part of a culture that inspires employees to think big, innovate, perform with excellence, and build passion, drive, and courage to dream big, then we want to build a better tomorrow with you. Come and join our team!
Lockheed Martin’s Rotary and Mission Systems’ C4ISR team is looking for a proven and experienced Systems Engineer to support a one‑of‑a‑kind Cross Business Area campaign that exemplifies our commitment to our OneLM Strategy.
The Work
The Innovations Team is the "ideas engine” that discovers, evaluates, and injects breakthrough technologies into the Lead Systems Integrator (LSI) stack. The Systems Engineer will be the technical driver for technology trade‑studies, rapid‑prototype explorations, and alternative‑solution assessments that enable the Detection → Prediction → Response → Recovery workflow. This role works side‑by‑side with the Innovations Lead, Lead Systems AWS Infrastructure Architect, AI/ML engineers, the Advisory Board, and external research partners.
Who We Are
The Platform‑as‑a‑Service (PaaS) and Integration team within our Digital Production Environment is building and delivering a cloud Lake, Digital Framework, and seamless integration of Lockheed Martin and 3rd‑party applications.
Who You Are
- A self‑starter
- An experienced Systems Engineer who can take a strategic view on technology insertion
- An engineer committed to delivering high‑quality, cutting‑edge technology for our customers and allies worldwide.
Why Join Us
Joining our team offers you the opportunity to support a company and a team where your contributions are valued and you can develop your skills and expertise.
- Our team puts a high value on work‑life balance; we focus on results, not on how many hours you spend at work or online.
- We offer a flexible schedule so you can be productive while enjoying a well‑balanced life inside and outside of work.
- Competitive pay and a comprehensive benefits package.
Become part of a mission‑driven organization where innovation, excellence, and balance go hand‑in‑hand
Basic Qualifications
- B.S. in Aerospace, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field (M.S. preferred) or equivalent experience
Proven ability to influence cross‑functional teams, mentor junior engineers, and drive consensus on technology selections.
Excellent written and verbal skills; able to translate complex technical analyses into concise executive briefs and clear engineering documentation.
Desired skills
Experience integrating AI/ML pipelines (SageMaker Feature Store, model‑serving) into system‑level architectures and evaluating their impact on latency, power, and safety.
Familiarity with AWS Well‑Architected Framework and ability to incorporate cost‑modeling into trade‑study scoring.
Background working with non‑DoD commercial customers that have high‑security requirements.
Additional certifications: AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional, CISSP, Lean Six Sigma Green Belt.
