POSITION SUMMARY
Primarily responsible for obtaining sales to support PTC Logistics, LLC’s company objectives. The Logistics Account Manager will book the loads on orders and ensure the effective management of each load in order to provide optimal customer service. This position in conjunction with the Director of Logistics will organize the efficient distribution of inbound raw materials to the processing facility, and outbound finished goods to each Regional Distribution Center and the customer to ensure that orders are correctly satisfied and cost efficient. The Logistics Account Manager is expected to manage the daily activities and resolve any issues under his/her qualified discretion.
Requirements
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Plan and prioritize personal sales activities and planning processes in order to achieve agreed upon company goals and objectives.
- Effective formation and timing of loads to achieve key metrics and profitability measurements for each customer.
- Create and manage individual portfolio of customer accounts.
- Address all concerns and implement solutions for both established and prospective customers.
- Execute carrier claims and follow through any necessary concerns.
- Data entry including but not limited to order creation, running mileage of predetermined routes, keeping loads and paperwork organized, filing documents, organizing carrier documents (including insurance and carrier packets).
- Ensure carriers meet or exceed performance requirements including customer service, quality, and compliance.
- Work collaboratively with Regional Distribution Centers’ General Managers to implement necessary transfers.
- Interface with sales, production, and quality control ensuring the company’s customer service creates a competitive advantage in the marketplace.
- Focus on the optimization of distribution and transportation costs and the distribution and delivery of products to customers.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING
This position requires 2-5 years of experience or any equivalent combination of education, experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
- Exceptional analytical skills and problem-solving capabilities
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage personnel
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to learn and understand transportation software systems and technologies
- Knowledge of all DOT, state, and federal requirements, policies, and procedures.
- Participate in various workshops and educational programs to maintain knowledge on all industry regulations and rules.
