We’re currently seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Loan Officer to join our team. In this role, you’ll guide members through the lending process and ensure every loan is handled with care, accuracy, and compliance. This position focuses on developing strong member relationships, identifying lending opportunities, and learning all aspects of loan origination, underwriting, and closing. Essential Responsibilities
- Assisting members with loan applications, approvals, and closings across consumer, indirect, and home equity loans.
- Analyzing credit reports, income, and financial data to determine loan eligibility.
- Preparing and processing loan documents, disbursing funds, and managing post-close activities.
- Ensuring compliance with lending regulations and internal policies.
- Cross-selling credit union products and services to support member needs.
- Maintaining accurate records for insurance, taxes, and real estate loans.
- Collaborating with internal teams to resolve loan issues and support operations.
- Providing exceptional member service and upholding confidentiality standard.

Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required; college degree in a relevant field preferred.
- 3–5 years of experience in loan processing, lending, or member services.
- Credit union or banking experience strongly preferred.
- NMLS certification required within 90 days of hire.
- Financial Counselor designation to be earned within 6 months of hire.
- Strong verbal communication, interpersonal, and listening skills.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to accurately interpret credit and income data.
- Professional, ethical, and committed to maintaining confidentiality.
- Effective multitasking and stress management in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Skilled in problem-solving, decision-making, and taking ownership of results.
- Comfortable operating standard office equipment (e.g., copier, fax, computer, phone).
- Team-oriented with a desire to help others and deliver exceptional service.
