Assistant Vice President of Operations
The Assistant Vice President (AVP) of Operations plays a critical role in supporting the strategic and operational success of the credit union’s operations department. While this position does not have direct reports, it provides indirect leadership through coaching, observation, development, and partnership with leaders across the organization.
The AVP of Operations works closely with the Vice Presidents (VPs) and SVP of Operations to ensure alignment with strategic goals, operational excellence, and member satisfaction. This role emphasizes coaching our coaches, fostering leadership growth, supporting execution of strategic initiatives, and serving as a trusted partner in driving operational efficiency and engagement. The AVP will also serve as acting VP during absences and take on key departmental responsibilities as needed.
Education and/or Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in financial services, with at least 2 years in a leadership, coaching, or operations management capacity.
- Proven experience in coaching, development, and performance management in a financial institution or service environment.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to influence and lead without direct authority.
- Knowledge of credit union operations, compliance, and best practices preferred.
