Position Summary

The Church Partnerships Coordinator plays a key role in furthering the Mission’s commitment to excellence in service and Christlike compassion. This position supports program objectives, ensures operational integrity, and reflects our values in every interaction with clients, staff, and the public. The Church Partnerships Coordinator serves as a member of the Development and Community Engagement Team and reports to the Director of Church Partnerships. This position cultivates relationships with our church partners and facilitates their engagement on multiple levels.  

Key Responsibilities 

To cultivate, pursue, and assist in developing relationships with new and current church partners through intentional/clear/relational communication and follow-up. Elevate churches to a higher tiered giving status.  

  • Help develop an annual strategy that targets SDRM’s existing Kingdom Supporter church partners (giving less than $3K/year) with the goal of elevating engagement to Kingdom Builder status ($3K/year plus) 
  • Organize and manage on-site and off-site church service projects, special events and donation drives
  • Maintain consistent, regular communication with church partners via mailings, email newsletters, proposals, thank you notes, tours and personal visits
  • Pursue church speaking engagements and tabling opportunities in accordance with department goals      
  • Connect with the Volunteer Coordinators at all campuses to ensure optimal integration of church partners with both on- and off-site opportunities. Lead volunteer groups through projects with support from the Volunteer Team
  • Work with Programs to develop church resources for our guests and students
  • Follow up on all church partner inquiries and target new potential partnerships
  • Invite churches for tours, give partner presentations and follow up with customized proposals and financial asks

Support Departmental Events and Marketing Efforts

  • Create marketing materials (banners, brochures, flyers, social media posts, template newsletters, HTML emails) for the CP Team 
  • Represent the Mission at local church events such as VBS and ministry fairs 
  • Assist the events team in event preparation, set-up, and tear-down 
  • Create short promotional training and highlight videos as needed 

To maintain our vision for SDRM’s twice-weekly chapel services, upholding our primary goal for every student to encounter God

  • Provide clear framework, guidelines/boundaries, procedures and ongoing communication for chapel hosts and chaplains, including necessary training materials
  • Ensure the chapel schedule is managed well from an administrative standpoint
  • Read all chapel reports to praise/discipline chapel hosts as appropriate   
  • Increase the level of engagement/investment in the Mission from longstanding chapel service hosts (giving financially, running donation drives, bringing groups to serve, etc.) 

To assist churches with the launch of upcoming program initiatives and the Overnight Immersion Program, along with accompanying outreach and volunteer events    

  • Assist Churches with OneName and related outreach events    
  • Assist partner churches with OneName outreaches, Overnight Immersion, and additional seasonal or program-based ministry initiatives.
  • Support year-round outreach and relational events, including:
    • Alternative Gift Markets & Missions Fairs
    • Student trip coordination to church events
    • Holiday Outreach Meals (Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas)
    • Church Serving Days at SDRM
    • Worship Nights
    • Development & Community Engagement celebrations (graduations, benefits, open houses)

Oversee the Church Partnership Database  

  • Understand and utilize all the features of the software   
  • Create standards and processes for data entry and management  
  • Run queries, analyze data and produce meaningful reports and presentations. Use data to design strategies to improve business initiatives  
  • Troubleshoot all issues, so that data is clean and useable    
  • Organize documentation for easy access and maximum efficiency across department  
  • Create and monitor a weekly dashboard to measure against departmental goals  
  • Stay abreast of software updates and lead/train team   
  • Produce mailing lists based on segmentation profiles  
  • Regularly run the church giving report, looking for trends and drop-offs. Prepare thank you notes for high givers. 
  • Upkeep the annual goals spreadsheet and regularly reporting trends to the Church Partnership team 

Collaborate cross-functionally to uphold trauma-informed practices and ensure client dignity. 

Qualifications


Education

  • Minimum: Bachelor’s in Ministry, Business, Non-Profit Management, or related field 

Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years working in a nonprofit, ministry, or human services environment 
  • Experience working with individuals facing homelessness, trauma, or addiction preferred 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Mailchimp 
  • Church ministry and volunteer coordination experience 
  • Outgoing, organized, creative, detail-oriented, fast learner, confident presenter, creative problem solver, strong writing skills, internet-savvy.  
  • Basic graphic design experience (Canva preferred)  

Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to function effectively in a dynamic, faith-based environment 
  • Strong communication and administrative skills 
  • Working knowledge of general business operations in a nonprofit, social services environment 
  • Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook) 
  • Typing (min 35 wpm)
