Position Overview
St. Thomas University College of Nursing seeks a dedicated online full-time faculty member for the RN-BSN program. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality, student-centered instruction, mentor nursing students, and contribute to curriculum development and program assessment. This role is integral to advancing the College’s mission of ethical leadership, cultural diversity, and academic excellence within a Catholic identity. The position offers opportunities for professional growth, collaboration, and impact in nursing education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach a range of courses in the RN-BSN program, totaling 24 credit hours annually, using innovative, evidence-based strategies for online learning.
- Advise and mentor RN-BSN students, supporting their academic and professional development.
- Participate in curriculum development, program assessment, and continuous improvement initiatives for the RN-BSN program.
- Engage in faculty meetings and accreditation-related activities, including assisting with CCNE accreditation documentation.
- Maintain regular online office hours and actively support program goals through faculty initiatives.
- Collaborate with faculty to enhance student learning, clinical placements, and program development.
- Participate in departmental, college, and university service activities, including committees and community engagement.
- Foster an inclusive, supportive online learning environment that promotes student success for a diverse population.
- Stay current with advances in nursing practice and education to continuously improve teaching and clinical instruction.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Education: Ph.D., DNP, or Ed.D. in Nursing from an accredited institution.
- Licensure: Active, unencumbered RN license in Florida required; or compact licensure
- Experience: Minimum three years of university-level teaching and clinical instruction,
Preferred Qualifications
- Specialized experience in area of expertise.
- Involvement in research or scholarship related to nursing.
- Knowledge of accreditation standards and experience with accreditation preparation.
