Position Summary:
The Material Coordinator / ERPS Clerk / Dispatcher is responsible for coordinating and expediting the flow of material, parts and assemblies within or between departments or shops, maintaining records in the ERPS (equipment repair parts/support) system, acting as a dispatcher for parts requisitions/transfers, and supporting maintenance/logistics operations to meet production or mission schedules.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review production/maintenance schedules and confer with department or shop supervisors to determine required or overdue material, parts or assemblies.
- Locate, requisition, expedite, and sequence delivery of material/parts according to job order priorities and anticipated availability.
- Arrange in-plant transfers or shipping/receiving of material to meet maintenance or production schedules.
- Monitor and control movement of material and parts, using stock records or computerized systems; maintain accurate inventory, tracking, and records.
- Provide guidance/training to lower-level supply/logistics personnel (e.g., warehouse specialist, stock clerk, shipping/receiving clerk) as required.
- Perform dispatcher-type duties: maintain records of transfers, fuels, mileage, expenses (if applicable), and support warehouse/logistics functions.
- Use Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and possibly ERP/maintenance systems (e.g., AWRDS, LMP, GCSS-Army) to track material and supports.
- May occasionally deploy or work aboard ship or remote site (if part of afloat operations) and comply with applicable safety/protection requirements.
Experience Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years' related experience is required.
- Experience in material coordination, supply chain, inventory control, especially in a DoD or military environment is preferred
- Experience with logistics/warehousing and knowledge of production/maintenance flows is preferred
- Knowledge of systems such as AWRDS, LMP, GCSS-Army, etc. is preferred
- Basic computer skills, including MS Office (Excel, Word).
- U.S. Citizenship (for base access / shipboard operations).
- Ability to obtain and maintain security credentials (CAC, base access).
- Valid state driver's license (for some material-movement duties).
Education Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required
Physical Requirments:
- Ability to lift up to ~35 lbs regularly, and team lift up to ~50 lbs.
- Ability to stand 2-3 hours/day, walk 4-5 hours/day, stoop, bend, climb stairs.
- Work may occur indoors in office/warehouse and outdoors or aboard ships, non-climate controlled environments, requiring PPE (hard hat, steel-toe boots, body armor if shipboard).
