POSITION SUMMARY:
The HR Analyst – Leave Management serves as district point-of-contact for facilitation of official, centralized leave-related issues; assists administrators and employees with absence procedures relating to management responsibilities and employee obligations. Coordinates all aspects of leave within the district, including but not limited to, FMLA/Medical, Military, and Educational/Professional. This position reports to the Benefits Manager.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Serves as central resource with regards to all activities related to leave requests and extensions, gathers and maintains documentation relative to requests and apply appropriate legal standards. Collaborates with Benefits, Payroll, and Worker’s Compensation regarding extended leave.
Provides guidance to supervisors, payroll contacts, and employees who need guidance relating to procedures for leaves, payroll, benefits, rights, and responsibilities and maintains FMLA-related leave records; monitors employee cases and status, and prepares special reports as required.
Provides in-service training on leave procedures to supervisors, timekeepers, and other employees.
Coordinates and facilitates Sick Leave Bank Committee meetings.
All other duties, as assigned and required, in order to perform the above services
KEY JOB REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma/GED required. Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
Minimum of two (2) years administrative experience at a mid-professional level required.
Experience related to leave management (including FML and military leave) preferred.
Prior experience coordinating within organizational departments; makes decisions and recommendations which often affect the activities of others.
Moderate level of judgment: supervisor is available to review established broad objectives; must approve general recommendations.
Requires regular, frequent contact with internal personnel of influence and decision-making responsibility to discuss issues of moderate importance; requires continuing contact with officials at higher levels. Excellent interpersonal skills are required for working with inter-organizational teams.
Requires frequent contact with external personnel of influence and decision-making responsibility to discuss issues of moderate importance; requires continuing contact with officials at higher levels. Excellent interpersonal and networking skills are required for working with interdepartmental and interdivisional teams.
Requires excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
Applies, recommends and implements technology concepts to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of District.
Responsibility for the Welfare of Others: Periodic (Monthly)
Normal office setting. Light duty - On most occasions sitting at a desk or table; intermittently sitting, standing, or stooping Light lifting or carrying 25 lbs. or less.
NOTE: This is a grade 23, 225 day position that pays for experience up to a Step 4.
