About the Job: In this position, you will perform a variety of analyses, studies, and research projects as requested by the Budget Manager, Chief Financial Officer, or executive staff.

As a Budget Analyst II, you will:

  • Track and analyze budget expenditures, operational issues, and financing requirements
  • Develop and prepare multi-year financial forecasts
  • Forecast and analyze various revenue sources
  • Maintain detailed records, prepare professional reports, and develop presentations of composite data
  • Assist with the development, coordination, and preparation of the annual budget and the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report
  • Perform comparative analyses of fiscal and operational performance data
  • Coordinate project activities with other City departments, divisions, boards, committees, task forces; external organizations; and the public
  • Analyze federal, state, and local legislative proposals for impact on assigned operations
We are looking for candidates who demonstrate knowledge of:
  • Methods and techniques of data collection, research, and report preparation
  • Methods of administrative, organizational, economic, and procedural analysis
  • Principles and practices of budget preparation and administration and federal and state grant programs
  • Pertinent federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations

Ability to:
  • Coordinate the collection, evaluation, and interpretation of information and data
  • Maintain detailed records and prepare professional reports
  • Review and analyze technical documents and proposals
  • Communicate clearly and concisely, verbally and in writing
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships

Position Duties

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in a related area of study. 
  • Three years of full-time, professional experience in a related field.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience working in a municipal government setting
  • Experience designing professional presentations and/or public speaking
  • Experience with budget process coordination
